ARTICLECouncil President Shannon Hardin Explores How Columbus Could Loan Money to Housing Developers

  • Columbus City Council Hardin is proposing a revolving loan fund to finance housing affordability projects.
  • The Plan would use a portion of the $500 million in housing affordability bonds approved by Columbus voters last November.
  • If Columbus were to set up a revolving loan fund, the city would have to set up a new entity to manage the fund or partner with an existing nonprofit like the Affordable Housing Trust or a governmental entity like the Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority.
