Columbus Growth Strategy Plan Adopted by City Council
- On Monday, 1/22, Columbus City Council passed the city’s first-ever citywide land use policy.
- The adoption of the Growth Strategy does not change zoning rules but rather establishes a policy foundation to guide the next round of zoning code updates as Zone In continues.
- Columbus REALTORS® President Gloria Alonso Cannon submitted comments via written testimony.
- Members and staff will continue to engage council.
Dublin Proposes Omitting Data Centers from Innovation District Land Uses
- This past Monday, Dublin Planning and Zoning Commission met to review code changes to the proposed West Innovation District zoning roadmap; resulting in a proposal to omit data centers in the district.
- Omitting data centers from the acceptable uses is the only proposed change that would apply to all of the West Innovation District (WID).

U.S. House Committee Advances Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA) Reauthorization
- The US House Financial Services Committee recently voted to advance H.R. 7128, the TRIA Program Reauthorization Act of 2026.
- The bill would extend the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA) for seven years, through 2034, and include a few modest, bipartisan refinements to the federal event‑certification process.
- NAR submitted a letter (attached) in support of the amended legislation, noting that TRIA is essential for maintaining access to terrorism insurance required for commercial real estate transactions and development.
