Columbus REALTORS® is proud to announce that the Institute of Real Estate Management, Columbus Commercial Industrial and Investment REALTORS®, and Marysville Area Realty Association were awarded Weiler grants in honor of their 2022 REALTOR® Care Day projects.

REALTOR® Care Day is an annual day of service to the communities in which REALTORS® live, work and raise families.

Since its inception in 2005, REALTOR® Care Day has resulted in almost $675,000 re-invested into our communities.

The REALTOR® Care Day Weiler Grant was established in 2014 to recognize Area Realty & Trade Association projects that exemplify the principles of the event which is to provide community service to those in need. The grant was named for Skip Weiler, founder of REALTOR® Care Day. By receiving this honor, all three groups will have an additional $500 in funding which they may use towards their 2023 REALTOR® Care Day projects.

The Columbus Commercial Industrial and Investment REALTORS® (CCIIR) removed two dilapidated structures and did extensive cleanup at the Amercrest-American Addition Community Garden on 12th and Joyce Avenues. This project was done in conjunction with Homeport.Pictures.

“CCIIR was excited to participate again this year in REALTOR® Care Day,” said Joe Menninger, CCIIR President. “Travis McIntyre took the lead once again for CCIIR and did a fantastic job organizing an extensive cleanup at the Amercrest-American Addition Community Garden in conjunction with Homeport.”

“On behalf of CCIIR, I would like to thank Skip Weiler and Columbus REALTORS® for the REALTOR® Care Day Weiler Grant and for their continued efforts to give back to our fantastic city!”

The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) Columbus cleaned up Washington Gladden Social Justice Park in Columbus’ Discovery District - an oasis of hope where past achievements for social justice are recognized and current struggles are revealed.

“IREM® Columbus is honored to receive a REALTOR® Care Day Weiler Grant and we commend Skip Weiler and The Robert Weiler Company for its commitment to bettering our community through REALTOR® Care Day,” said Anthony Tynan, 2022 President, IREM Columbus.

“We had approximately 25 people participate in our project, which was completed in support of the Capital Crossroads and Special Improvement Districts of Downtown Columbus, and the Washington Gladden Social Justice Park. Our group picked up trash east of Downtown near Columbus State Community College, Columbus College of Art & Design, the Columbus Museum of Art and Thurber Park.

We look forward to participating in REALTOR® Care Day again in 2023.”

The Marysville Area Realty Association (MARA) provided $6,000 worth of food and supplies to Blessings in a Backpack and the Hope Center. This included 27 sleeping bags, 14 tents, 14 tarps, eight ponchos, 21 totes and 60 McDonald’s gift cards.

'MARA could not be more surprised and grateful for the honor of being awarded the Weiler Grant,” said Katie Crocco, RCD Project Coordinator. “Homelessness and food insecurity are increasing annually, and the need cannot be ignored. Every donation dollar or hour matters. This money will allow us to assist even more for our 2023 project!”

“Thank you from the bottom of not only our hearts but those in need that it will help in the future.”
