Columbus REALTORS® welcomes Todd Laber to the Association as Senior Director of Technology, effective November 7, 2022.
In the newly created role, Laber will assess the Association’s current technology offerings and make recommendations to better serve our members and consumers. Laber will also focus on the upgrades and growth of the infrastructure of the organization and MLS. The need for a strategic approach and keeping Columbus REALTORS® at the forefront of technology was the motivation behind the creation of the position.
Columbus REALTORS® CEO is excited about the skills and experience that Laber brings to the position.
“Todd’s executive experience, business acumen, and technical skill set are a perfect match as we look to better serve our members, consumers, and staff,” said Swander. “Like many industries, real estate is in the palms of REALTORS® and those searching for property. As the real estate industry evolves, Columbus REALTORS® must remain technologically focused.”
Laber brings over 25 years of experience in technology spanning non-profit, public, and private sectors. He comes to Columbus REALTORS® after spending the last 15 years at Goodwill Columbus. As Director of Information Technology, he designed and executed a technology strategy to meet the demands of a shift from center-based to community-based programs and services. Laber and his team played a vital role in the growth of the sixth-largest nonprofit organization in central Ohio, including the organization’s multimillion-dollar retail expansion.
Before landing at Goodwill Columbus, Laber founded the web design and consulting company One Nine Design from 2004-07, where he created customized websites for clients to increase brand awareness while growing donorship and volunteer pools.
A 1997 graduate of Wittenberg University, Laber also holds certifications in ITIL, Project Management, Web Development, and IT Leadership.
After college, Laber spent three years as a project manager for Government Technology Services, Inc. (GTSI) in Chantilly, Virginia. He left GTSI in 2000 for a buyer position with America Online, Inc., a position he held until 2004.
Laber was named to the Top 100 Tech Power Players in Central Ohio list in 2018 and 2019. He received the Distinguished Performance Award from Goodwill Columbus in 2009 and was awarded the Best Practice for Technology Plan by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities in 2017.
“I am thrilled to be joining Columbus REALTORS® and the digital transformation taking place here,” said Laber. “I look forward to collaborating with our members, leadership, and the Columbus REALTORS® team to develop a technology strategy that strengthens and elevates the resources and services we provide. Our focus is on the user experience, where we will be exploring and implementing emerging technologies that will innovate and drive business to new heights.”
