Emily Smith is a passionate Columbus REALTOR® with Keller William Consultants. Though she may wear many hats in her career, 'Reality TV Star' is not one she ever imagined she would wear.

In March of 2026, Emily's day-to-day reality was broadcasted to HGTV on a popular show called House Hunters. In her featured episode, Emily works with her clients, Ashley and Chuck to purchase their forever home near Gahanna.

As previous individual homeowners in Gahanna, Ashley and Chuck reached out to Emily to find the perfect place to blend their two families. Both having been through divorces, the location for their families played a significant role in their home search. Ashley's two sons attend school in Gahanna and are actively involved in sports and other activities, so while their relationship may stretch far, their home cannot.

When asked about her prior relationship with her clients, Emily said, "Ashley works as he Merchandising Manager for Pelotonia and is also a successful insurance agent and merchandising consultant. Ashley and I worked together years ago. I've had the privilege of knowing her long before helping her buy a home."

As longtime friends, Emily has been by Ashley's side through significant life changes

"I still remember when Ashley first told me about Chuck after her divorce. She was excited about this new chapter in her life, and I was genuinely happy for her. Years later, being able to help Ashley and Chuck purchase a home together felt like a true full-circle moment. Watching them build this next chapter together as a family was incredibly rewarding."

Ashley and Chuck's home search took place over several months, as Emily led them to explore a wide variety of options including resale and new construction. In the end, Ashley and Chuck found their perfect home and submitted their only offer. Emily's expertise as a REALTOR® directed them seamlessly through the process.

" One of my favorite memories from the transaction happened when I called Ashle to tell her their offer had been accepted. The home had received multiple offers, and before writing ours, I had spoken with the listing agent to understand what was most important to the sellers," Emily said. "We learned that possession timing was a major factor, so we structured our offer around the sellers' preferred timeline. The listing agent later shared that this was one of the primary reasons our offer was selected."

Though this month-long process was crunched down to show in one 30-minute episode to air on HGTV, for Ashley, Check, and Emily, this is their real life. In reflection, Emily said, "This transaction was unique because it wasn't simply about helping someone purchase a house. It was about helping two families become one."
