This week, Columbus REALTORS® begins sharing all its commercial MLS listings to COCIE powered by Catylist. The goal is to build a comprehensive database for our Catylist members throughout Ohio and the country, while also working closely with organizations such as OneColumbus and JobsOhio.
The following commercial listings will now be shared with COCIE/Catylist:
Multi-family (5+) Land (not to include residential lots) Office Industrial Retail
"One of the greatest resources for REALTORS® is the ability to collaborate with other REALTORS® and market their listings to the commercial real estate community. Having all of the commercial listings and data compiled into the COCIE/Catalyst database will create value for all commercial real estate professionals by ensuring that their listings will be marketed to all of the deal makers and influencers in commercial real estate in central Ohio." Matthew R. Dixon, Chair, 2020 Commercial Advisory Board
Although access to the up-to-date listing data is accessible to non-members, you must be a COCIE or Catylist subscriber for full access and edit capabilities. Catylist subscriber pricing is as follows: $251.55/quarterly (REALTOR®); $393.45/quarterly (non-REALTOR®).
Why is having all commercial listings in COCIE a benefit to commercial members? The benefit is for consistency within listing information. The information needed on commercial deals differs from that of residential. If a listing agent is unfamiliar with requirements for commercial deals, COCIE/Catylist researchers will ask the necessary questions to help populate the listing to assist with the successful sell/lease of the property. This effort will save time by not having to track down important details.
Why does this benefit MLS members selling/buying/leasing commercial property? Often enough, there are commercial deals on the MLS which are never seen by commercial agents. Having all commercial listings in one place significantly increases the opportunity for exposure. Additionally, commercial agents have the ability to filter properties by needs just like the MLS. Specific fields within property types allow agents the ability to narrow searches.
What information (fields) are in COCIE that are not in MLS? Every niche within the commercial real estate has its own needs. Parking ratios and common area amenities are important in office listings. Co-tenants and demographics are desired in retail. Rail service and ceiling height are factors in industrial. The COCIE database includes this vital information.
Why is having all commercial listings in COCIE benefit our community partners? Several Economic Development Offices can pull listings from COCIE directly into their web sites. COCIE listings are updated regularly so information will reach a greater audience, especially those looking for land, large offices, or industrial. This is a great way to bring new business into Central Ohio.
Do I have to join COCIE to see these listings? Although access to the up-to-date listing data is accessible to non-members, you must be a COCIE or Catylist subscriber for full access and edit capabilities. Catylist subscriber pricing is as follows: $251.55/quarterly (REALTOR®); $393.45/quarterly (non-REALTOR®).
