COLUMBUS, Ohio (July 14, 2025) - Mike McCoy is the owner and broker at RE/MAX Impact. He has been named Columbus REALTORS® Broker of the Year.
In 2017, Mike made the difficult decision to change careers, transitioning from the corporate restaurant industry to becoming a REALTOR®. Due to the constant travel required in the restaurant business, Mike was missing his kids' sporting events and simply wanted to be home with his family.
Mike joined the RE/MAX team, where he had two great mentors – Bob and Tyler Griffith – who taught him everything he needed to know about the industry. In 2020, Mike was approached and asked to buy RE/MAX Impact, so once again, he took a leap of faith.
After taking over RE/MAX Impact, Mike was determined to become a broker. In 2021, he successfully obtained his broker license. Two years later, Mike became the 2023 Vice Chair of the Columbus REALTORS® Broker Advisory Council and a two-time committee chair for 2024 and 2025.
Mike serves on the Board of Directors for Columbus REALTORS®. He proudly participates in the Columbus REALTORS® MLS Committee, an MLS Taskforce, CORPAC, the Government Affairs Committee, and a Keybox Showing Services Taskforce. Additionally, he is a two-time President of the Westerville Area Realty Association.
Mike is grateful to the entire RE/MAX Impact team, especially Margo Belkofer, who he jokes is the true boss of the office. “She’s the best Office Manager in the world – she’s the boss, she signs the checks. I’m just there.”
Winning the Columbus REALTORS® Broker of the Year title means a great deal to Mike. He stated, “When I found out the number of my agents that nominated me – that’s a huge deal. Winning this award is a reflection and credit to them. I am so proud of them.”
The future of his career is gilded in hope and hard work. “I never dreamed this far. I love what I do, and I plan to continue mentoring, growing the company, and helping people find their homes.” Mike wants to continue growing RE/MAX Impact to pass down to his daughter, Morgan, who became a licensed REALTOR® last year.
Outside of work, Mike owns a generational home that he calls, “a labor of love.” He is excited to watch his daughter Morgan grow her real estate career and see his son, who is a junior at the University of Cincinnati, step into his future career.
