COLUMBUS, Ohio (April 18, 2024)- The Columbus & Central Ohio Regional Multiple Listing Service (MLS) has acquired and agreed to merge with the Lancaster Multiple Listing Service (MLS), effective immediately.
All Lancaster MLS subscribers who were not already subscribers of the Columbus & Central Ohio Regional MLS may join by filling out amembership applicationor by calling 614-475-4000.
“We are thrilled to welcome our friends from Lancaster and surrounding Fairfield, Hocking, and Perry Counties,” said Columbus REALTORS® CEO Brent Swander.
“I’d like to thank Lancaster MLS President Donn Borah, Treasurer Jeff Owens, and Lancaster Board of REALTORS® Executive Officer Eric Duemmel for their openness to having conversations and coming to a resolution. We have similar relationships in Delaware County and Licking County, and we’re excited to bring Lancaster MLS subscribers into the fold.”
The merger brings the Lancaster MLS under the Columbus & Central Ohio Regional MLS umbrella. The Lancaster Board of Realtors will continue to exist and serve its members as a local association.
This is similar to the framework agreed upon in Delaware County and Licking County, where local REALTOR® associations remain, but their MLS territory is serviced by the Columbus & Central Ohio Regional MLS.
“The directors of the Lancaster MLS would like to thank Columbus REALTORS® and the Columbus MLS for their help and support through the acquisition and merger of the Lancaster MLS with the Columbus MLS,” said Lancaster MLS President Donn Borah. “The agents using the Columbus MLS for the first time will find a very user-friendly application and easy to perform searches.”
In coordination with the merger, the Columbus & Central Ohio Regional MLS has expanded its service territory to include Fairfield, Hocking, and Perry Counties. Effective March 1, all Fairfield, Hocking, and Perry Counties listings must be entered into the Columbus & Central Ohio Regional MLS, if the participant is a member of the MLS.
To allow new members to familiarize themselves with Columbus & Central Ohio Regional MLS rules and regulations, fines were suspended for 90 days for all members who service the territory of Fairfield, Hocking, and Perry Counties. Violations (fines) will begin on June 1.
