Columbus REALTORS® held its 15th annual Commercial Recognition Awards (formerly COCIE Awards) on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Understory. Nearly 100 commercial movers and shakers, supporters and leadership were on hand to applaud the outstanding accomplishments of our 2022 honorees.
2022 Erika Blumenstein Memorial Award
Lynn Singh, Director of the Commercial Division, RE/MAX Affiliates, Inc.
We were honored to present Lynn Singh with the 2022 Erika Blumenstein Memorial Award for her professionalism and outstanding commitment to the commercial real estate industry and the central Ohio community.
Lynn is the Director of the Commercial Division at RE/MAX Affiliates. She has been working in the commercial real estate market since 1986, assisting clients with buying, selling, and leasing of commercial properties. In her 37-year tenure in commercial real estate, Lynn has gained extensive knowledge in industrial, office, multi-family, retail, land development, and investment properties.
She has been described as an agent that leaves nothing on the table. She is extremely professional and caring but gets the most for all of her clients.
Her strong work ethic and focus on helping her clients have led her to be awarded the Co-Star Power Broker Award for the Top Industrial Leasing Broker (2012 and 2013) and 1st place in REMAX Commercial Sales for the Central and Northern Region (2013).
Lynn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from The Ohio State University.
2022 Commercial Community Service Award
Andy Mills, CCIM, SIOR, President and Managing Partner, Elford Realty, LLC
For his professionalism and outstanding commitment to service, the commercial real estate profession and the central Ohio community, we were honored to present Andy Mills with our Commercial Community Service Award.
Andy’s community involvement encompasses a wide variety of institutions and charitable organizations including serving as an Adjunct Professor at The Ohio State University Fisher School of Business; Vice-Chair of Nationwide Children’s Hospital Ambassador’s Council and as a Member and Past President of its Development Board; a Member and Past President of Tri-Village Rotary, and as a weekly 2nd grade reading tutor at Wiggin Street Elementary school since 2006 and a tutor at Stevenson Elementary School in Grandview, Ohio.
He has also served as President of Columbus Realtors®; on the Board of Directors of Ohio Realtors® and of the National Association of Realtors®; and is a Past-President and Member of the Ohio CCIM Chapter.
Andy has been recognized as a Columbus Business First 40 under 40 recipient; The Business Journals 2019 Top 100 National Influencers in Commercial Real Estate; and Columbus Realtors’® 10 under 40, Top 10 Commercial Producer, Largest Retail Sale Transaction, and Rookie of the Year. He has held the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation since 2009 and was recognized by the CCIM Institute with the Presidential Distinction Award under his leadership as President of the Ohio Chapter in 2014. He also holds the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors® (SIOR) designation.
As President of Elford Realty, Andy is responsible for all commercial brokerage operations, including business development, marketing, client relations and recruitment. He works with both tenants and owners on strategies related to their real estate acquisition and disposition and views his role as an advisor to help clients understand the market and effectively achieve their goals with their real estate.
Andy is a 2002 graduate of Kenyon College and is a former three-sport collegiate letter winner. He resides in Upper Arlington with his wife (Mary), two kids (Luke & Ava), and golden retriever (Grayton).
2022 COCIE Rookie of the Year
Jackie Delay, Assistant Vice President, Elford Realty, LLC
Jackie Delay is this year’s COCIE Rookie of the Year honoree and according to her colleagues and clients is an extremely motivated self-starter who is building her client list by asking questions on both sides of the deal, listening for understanding and using that understanding to put together deals that work to create collaborative relationships.
Jackie joined Elford Realty at the beginning of 2020 after four years working in The Ohio State University’s (OSU) Planning and Real Estate Department as part of a team responsible for leasing, sales, acquisitions, and development on behalf of business units within OSU’s Wexner Medical Center. Through her participation in many of these transactions across the State of Ohio, she has gained experience in taking a need from strategic planning to site selection, deal negotiation, design and construction through to completion.
In her three-year tenure with Elford, Jackie has participated in various commercial real estate transactions and credits much of what she has learned to her partners, Kristy Daniels and Andy Mills. Jackie focuses on representing medical and professional office tenants, buyers, sellers, and landlords throughout Central Ohio and is drawn towards tenant representation but continues to participate in listings to remain knowledgeable on all sides of a deal.
Originally from Cleveland, Jackie moved to Columbus in 2012 to attend OSU, where she graduated in 2017 from the Fisher College of Business with a degree in Finance. She is grateful to have had the experience as a student and employee at OSU because it gave her an appreciation for the economic engine that is in our community.
She is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, where she previously Chaired ULI’s Young Leaders Group Mentor Program in Columbus and currently serves on the Next Gen committee for CORFAC International. Jackie is passionate about health, wellness, and supporting local businesses and applies that perspective to improve the outcome of her work. She frequently attends NAIOP events and is working toward earning her CCIM designation.
Jackie’s work ethics and commitment to building collaborative relationships make her the ideal choice for this year’s “Rookie of the Year’ award.
Largest Commercial Transactions – Sale or Lease
2022 Largest Transaction Industrial (sale) – Dan Sheeran, Sr., Dan Sheeran, Jr., CLCS, CPIA, CRIS, and Mike Semon, NAI Ohio Equities, were presented this award for brokering the 6.6-million-dollar sale of the property located at 1300 Alum Creek Dr., in Columbus, OH. This property closed on Dec. 22, 2022.
2022 Largest Transaction Industrial (lease) – Curt Berlin, SIOR, Matt Osowski, SIOR, and Blake DeCrane, NAI Ohio Equities, picked up this award for leasing 776,862 square foot of industrial space located at 4314 E. 5th Avenue in Columbus, OH. This deal closed on Aug. 24, 2022.
2022 Largest Transaction Office (sale) – Matt Gregory, CCIM, SIOR, Andy Dutcher, SIOR, and Philip Bird, SIOR, NAI Ohio Equities, earned this award for the sale of office space located at 350 E. Wilson Bridge, in Worthington, OH that closed on June 2, 2022.
2022 Largest transaction Office (lease) – Matt Gregory, CCIM, SIOR, Andy Dutcher, SIOR, and Philip Bird, SIOR, NAI Ohio Equities, received this award for negotiating 66,191 square feet of office space at 579 Executive Campus Dr., in Westerville, OH. This lease was closed on Sept. 30, 2022.
2022 Largest Transaction Retail (sale) – Andy Mills, CCIM, SIOR, and Bob Bowen, Elford Realty, were presented this award for the sale of retail space at 1334 Rombach Ave., in Wilmington, OH.
2022 Largest Transaction Retail (lease) – Matt Gregory, CCIM, SIOR, Andy Dutcher, SIOR, and Philip Bird, SIOR, NAI Ohio Equities, also picked up this award for brokering a deal to lease 26,289 square feet of retail space at 35101 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, OH. This deal closed on March 3, 2022.
