The Licking County auditor recently updated their website with a brand new parcel lookup and tax record delivery. The new OnTrac system has a much more modern look and feel. To access OnTrac, simply click the OnTrac link on the left side of the auditor’s main page.

The first thing you will notice is that the search box has been moved to the right side of the page. The Tax District, Township, Municipality (Corp Limit) and School District fields appear near the bottom of the page. These fields should be used as the official entry for your MLS listings. The Tax Distribution page (shown later in this article) should be used as a secondary verification for the correct entry on your MLS listing.

The same “search by” options appear in the drop-down box: Parcel #, Address, and Owner.

As soon as you type part of a name or address in the “Search for” box, OnTrac will generate a list of matches. You can finish typing the exact match or simply click on the property you wish to view.

After you have selected a property, the left side navigation offers access to the subsequent pages of information such as the map or sketch for the selected property.

Some of the items on the left side such as Taxes will display additional options when clicked.

One very important page is the Tax Distribution page. This page is used to verify the city/municipality for entry on the MLS in the Corp Limit Per Auditor field.

With all new software, there is always a learning curve. There are also bugs and growing pains that will have to be sorted out, fixed and revised over the coming months. The new OnTrac system in Licking County offers MLS members who practice in Licking County a way to access the auditor data for years to come.
