Don’t be surprised when you don’t see Sales Associates Day on the 2018 fall calendar. Sara Walsh, 2018 president of Columbus REALTOR®, has commissioned a task force to review Sales Associates Day and consider how best to revitalize the event to increase interest and participation. President Walsh appointed Columbus REALTOR® Recognition and Sales Awards Committee Co-chairs Holly Lockett, Keller Williams Capital Partners, and Kristina Ross, RE/MAX Capital Centre, to head up the task force to do just that.
Task Force members include, Noah Brader (Concord Mortgage), Caryl Caito (Talon Title), Robert Corwin (Elite Land Title), Mark Purcell (ABC Gas Repair), Cole Cannon (Rolls Realty), Jennie Scoby (Huntington Mortgage Group), Joy Atkins (MI Homes), Erin Ogden Oxender (Keller Williams Capital Partners), Valerie Tivin (Best Corporate Real Estate,) Jodee Gallagher (Berkshire Hathaway), Koretta Tennant (Keller Williams Capital Partners) and the Columbus REALTORS® team, Stan Collins, Lucy Buzzee, and Karen Sobotka
The Task Force first met in February to review the history of Sales Associates Day considering the purpose, themes, and venues of the event. Because Columbus REALTOR® membership participation has been trending downward, the committee collected all past data to determine overall positive themes and pinpoint not so well received themes. After much consideration and time, the committee is proposing the following changes to the event:
Separating the business meeting from the education and networking (trade show) piece; rebranding the annual event to possibly include an industry marketing theme with keynote speaker; education breakout sessions lead by real estate brokers and affiliates sharing best practices; and ending the event with networking to include finger food and drinks

“The separation of the trade show from the annual business meeting will encourage even more participation from our affiliates. Affiliates will be invited to engage at all levels; from the traditional hosting of a table to offering relevant education and roundtable discussions. Additionally, the fun, professional environment for networking and re-connecting with other members will not change, but now we have the opportunity to go to exciting new venues.”
