In the upcoming primary election on Tuesday, May 6, Marysville voters are being asked to support the MEVSD 5.5-mill, 10-year emergency school levy. The Central Ohio REALTORS® Political Action Committee (CORPAC) and the Marysville Area Realty Association understand the importance of this levy and its passage. With contributions of $5,000 and $500, respectively, REALTORS® have expressed their full support for this levy and urge the community to vote ‘yes’ for the emergency levy, encouraging colleagues to participate and vote.
In simple terms, the levy will cost homeowners $16 per month for every $100,000 of assessed home value. If the levy is not approved, the damaging effects on our students and community will be felt for years to come, leaving our students behind due to cuts to AP and STEM courses, extracurricular activities, and foreign language courses, just to name a few.
“Public schools play a critical role in shaping our neighborhoods,” said Buffie Patterson, President of the Columbus REALTORS® and Columbus and Central Ohio Regional MLS. “Access to high-quality public education is a top priority for homebuyers and renters alike, and we are happy to support our local school districts.”
“This is an emergency levy to ensure our students have access to high-quality education and remain competitive in an ever-growing and challenging job market,” said Cody Adams, President of the Marysville Area Realty Association. “I urge my friends and colleagues to vote ‘yes’ for the levy because it is a vote for our students and our future.”
Early voting ends this Sunday, May 4, and polling places will open on Tuesday, May 6, from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
