Utlilizing Public Records in Real Estate

Instructor: TJ Brown (Realtor, 43 Homes and former Franklin County Recorder)
This course will provide the real estate licensee with detailed knowledge about the information available in the public domain and how it can help them and their clients throughout the buying and selling process.
The expected outcomes are:
- A greater knowledge about county government websites (Auditor, Treasurer, Recorder, Court) ad the information provided by those offices
- How public records can provide a benefit to the agent and their client whether a buyer or seller
- How public records can help an agent evaluate a potential buyer or seller client
TJ Brown was Franklin County Recorder from 2013 to 2017, as well as, Financial Systems Analyst, Franklin County Municipal Clerk of Courts prior to being elected as County Recorder. Brown has a history of working in county government over the years beginning in 2003 (with then Franklin County Treasurers, Edward Leonard and Richard Cordray) and with the Department of Human Resources). Brown holds a Masters of Public Administration from The Ohio State University and a Masters of Science in Communication Studies from University of North Texas.
