How to help victims of Hurricane Harvey

Our hearts go out to the tens of thousands of families who have been displaced by catastrophic storms on the Texas coastline. Officials are calling Hurricane Harvey and the subsequent flooding, one of the most epic storms in our nation's history.

The Columbus REALTORS® Foundation approved a $2,000 donation to the REALTORS® Relief Foundation in support of the Harvey Relief.

Here are two ways you can help our neighbors in Texas.

Donate needed items
The Texas Association of Realtors has a disaster Relief Fund. Donating directly to TAR’s fund may make it more likely that today’s donation is used specifically for the Harvey disaster.

Westport Homes is teaming up with local partners in the area to help collect essential items to send to victims of the natural disaster in Texas. Needed items include:

  • Baby care items (diapers, wipes, blankets, nightgown/onesie, bottles
  • Toiletries (soap, lotion, toothpaste, toothbrush, pads/tampons, deodorant, toilet paper, shampoo & conditioner, brush and comb)
  • Blankets
  • Plain t-shirts (small child up to adult)
  • Sweatpants (small size up to adult) socks, underwear (all sizes boy and girl)
  • Box Fans
  • Pet supplies
  • Sleeping bags
  • Bottled Water
  • Non-perishable food itmes
  • Heavy duty bags  (the ones you see in checkout lines. For distribution).

After 9/10/17, all items collected will be delivered to two locations for distribution: The Word of God Christian Fellowship Church in Cypress, Texas and the George Brown Convention Center in Houston.
