The “A” in STARS stands for attitude

In this market, we must all be cognizant of our attitudes. Every day that we wake up, we have the opportunity to choose how we can react to this market place and to each other.

When Buyers are frustrated and cannot find a property, we must remain the anchor. It’s very important that we remain positive and optimistic that we will find a home for them.

We all know that inventory is down and everyone is striving to get listings. Sellers are also looking to us for advice and direction. Through all the adversity, we must rely on our attitudes and passion for this organization.

One of the best examples of great attitudes that I witnessed recently was our April 9 Governmental Affairs Committee Meeting. Chair Ben Calhoon and Government Affairs Director Brent Swander invited U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (D-3), Representative Steve Stivers (R-15), and U.S. Congressman Pat Tiberi (R-12) to speak with us.

For over an hour, they answered many questions from members.

Although, it would be very easy for these individuals to have negative attitudes given today’s political environment, it was inspiring to see our representatives, regardless of affiliation and personal opinion, setting aside their differences to work for a common goal.

Some of our REALTOR® members even brought their children to observe this open dialogue.

Remember, attitudes are contagious. Ask yourself: Is yours worth catching?

We have several upcoming events worth noting – the Global Forum (May 7), CORPAC Auction (May 21), and REALTOR® Care Day (June 3). See the events section of this magazine for more information on these and other upcoming events!
