Quadrennial Ethics Course Requirement due 12/30/16
The National Association of REALTORS® Ethics course requirement is that all REALTORS® must complete at least 2.5 hours of ethics training (NAR Code of Ethics) every four years. The next 40-year deadline is December 30, 2016.
Columbus REALTORS® will accept any ethics course that has been approved by the Ohio Division of Real Estate that satisfies the state of Ohio ethics course requirement for continuing education credit.
If you've taken either the Columbus REALTORS® New Member Orientation ethics course and/or a Columbus REALTORS® sponsored ethics course during the last four years, you don't have to do anything. We have a record of your attendance and will submit it to NAR.
However, if you've taken an ethics course somewhere else in the last four years, please email a copy of your certificate of completion to Lucy Buzzee, LBuzzee@columbusrealtors.com.
If you need to take the ethics course, the CE Shop and Hondros College both offer them online - and with a discount if you go through the Columbus REALTORS® portal.
Note: After this year’s due date (12/30/2016), the NAR Ethics course requirement will change to a 2-year cycle. More information about the new cycle will be forthcoming, and there may be changes in the process.
