Membership Steps & Types

Welcome to Columbus REALTORS®! We are excited about your interest in our association and in joining the growing REALTOR® community. Below you will find the necessary membership forms and information you will need to get the application process underway.

Steps to Becoming a Member

  1. Select your membership classification and complete the appropriate application:
    • REALTOR® -- There are three types of membership available for individuals who have a real estate license or appraiser license or certification. Review the benefits of REALTOR® membership.
      • Designated REALTOR® - Licensed broker or appraiser who is sole proprietor, partner, corporate officer or branch office manager acting on behalf of the firm's principals. Residential and Commercial/Investment Section membership available. Broker application
      • REALTOR® - Licensed broker, salesperson or appraiser who is associated with a Designated REALTOR®. Residential and Commercial/Investment Section membership available. Agent application
      • REALTOR® Appraiser - Licensed appraisers who wish to hold REALTOR® membership in the association. Appraiser application
    • Affiliate/Sustaining There are five types of membership available for individuals who do not have a real estate license but have an interest in the real estate industry. Review the benefits of Affiliate/Sustaining membership.
      • Corporate Affiliate - real estate owners or individuals associated with a title company, mortgage company, financial institution, home building, or other company not having individuals licensed as sales agents or brokers. Corporate Affiliate application
      • Individual Affiliate - individuals associated with the company of a Corporate Affiliate member (above). Individual Affiliate application
      • Sustaining - individuals who practice in industries such as home inspection, pest control, insurance, engineering, moving/storage, contracting, cleaning, utilities, education, advertising, government, etc. Sustaining application
      • Individual Sustaining - individuals associated with the company of a Sustaining member (above). Individual Sustaining application
      • Institute Affiliate - individuals who hold a professional designation awarded by a qualified Institute, Society, or Council affiliated with the National Association of REALTORS® that addresses a specialty area other than residential brokerage or individuals who otherwise hold a class of membership in such Institute, Society or Council that confers the right to vote or hold office.
  2. Attend the Columbus REALTORS® New Member Orientation class (not applicable to Affiliate/Sustaining applicants)
    • REALTOR® applicants attending New Member Orientation within 60 days of application will receive a $50 gift certificate to the Member Service Center (store) or Print Shop.
    • The 4-hour New Member Orientation is offered monthly rotating between morning and evening sessions. To find the next offering of this orientation and/or to register, visit our Events Calendar.
    • We now offer an online new member orientation option. Please mark the online option when filling out the new agent application. A separate email will be sent to you from Columbus REALTORS® ( to take the online new member orientation, once your application has been processed.
