CBR TEMPO Wireless

Access the MLS on your PDA or Cell Phone
TEMPO Wireless provides real estate professionals with the capability to search MLS data fom a wireless handheld device anytime, anywhere there is cellular coverage.

Tempo Wireless is not a replacement for the CBR Tempo MLS system and is a separate site designed for wireless handhelds.

To take advantage of Tempo Wireless, you will need a wireless handheld device that supports HTML Internet browsing and a subscription to an Internet package, commonly known as a data plan, from a wireless service provider.

What's compatible?
Although most PDAs and phones that allow HTML browsing should be able to access Tempo Wireless, not all will be compatible with the electronic iBox. Be sure to check out the Compatible Device List before making a purchase you may later regret.

MLS On Your Smartphone - Tempo Wireless
TEMPO Wireless was released to all members of the Columbus Board of REALTORS® MLS in late February 2007. There is currently no additional charge to members to use the TEMPO Wireless system on their smartphone.

Members wishing to use TEMPO Wireless are required to register.

Instructions for Wireless registration are posted on the MLS Welcome Screen. All screenshots in this article are samples of how the data may appear on your device. Exact layout and fields may change at any time.

Features:

TEMPO Wireless is a separate Web site for wireless hand held devices. There is no software to install or synchronization necessary to access TEMPO Wireless. Registration is required, this information is accessible on the CBR MLS Welcome Screen or by calling (614) 475-4000 and ask for MLS tech support (if you have MLS membership).

After you've registered, you will simply type in the TEMPO Wireless address - http://wireless.columbusrealtors.com/ - into the address line of your hand held's HTML capable web browser, and you will be asked for a username and password. This will be the same username and password you use for CBR TEMPO MLS.

TEMPO Wireless is not a replacement for CBR TEMPO online MLS. Notably, there is no Add/Edit feature and other TEMPO only features on TEMPO Wireless. All listing changes and additions must still be done on a desktop or laptop computer using the main CBR TEMPO MLS through Internet Explorer.

TEMPO Wireless will work on many wireless devices. The main requirement is that the device must support HTML Internet browsing and must have a subscription to an Internet package or "data plan" from a wireless service provider.

A single typical listing will be about 50KB in size to download from Tempo Wireless. The agent will need to purchase an appropriate data contract from their wireless provider. Neither the device (PDA or cell phone) nor the wireless connection is supplied by TEMPO Wireless. The agent must have the hardware and wireless service contract prior to registering to use TEMPO Wireless.

Other devices may work with TEMPO Wireless (see Compatible Device list or contact MostHome directly for compatibility questions). You must have an HTML web browser and a live internet connection. To test your device for compatibility, just login to http://wireless.columbusrealtors.com/  If you can login and see the logo, your device is likely compatible.
