Below is information on the elections of CBR Director, Secretary, C/I Steering Committee and MLS Committee. Those elected in the upcoming elections below will begin their term January 1, 2012.

Office of CBR Director - 12:01 p.m. Oct. 31 - 12:00 p.m. Nov. 10
Anyone wishing to run for the one of the four Director positions must be a CBR member in good standing (residential or commercial) and have held continuous membership in the Board for a minimum of three successive years.
The Board of Directors consists of : (a) 12 REALTOR® members, four of whom are elected each year for terms of three years each; the Immediate Past President; one Corporate or Individual Affiliate Member elected biennially for a two-year term; the President, President-Elect, Treasurer, and Secretary; the chair of the C/I Section Steering Committee; and the Chief Executive Officer.
Election of the Nominating Committee
REALTOR® members of the CBR will elect four members to serve on the Nominating Committee at the Annual Business Meeting, Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011. The Nominating Committee for Directors consists of: four REALTOR® members who are neither current Directors nor past presidents; the elected REALTOR® Directors whose terms expire this year; and one past president appointed by the current President. If you wish to serve on the Nominating Committee but cannot be at the annual business meeting, we’ll need your written consent in advance. No member of the Nominating Committee may be nominated to run on the slate of candidates. In order to serve on the Nominating Committee, you must be able to attend both the following meetings:
- 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, 2011 (to select nominees)
- 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2011 (to confirm the election)
Election of Directors
Eligible members of the CBR will be e-mailed information to access ballots containing the names of all persons nominated by the committee on Oct. 31, 2011. The election will close on Nov. 10 at noon. The Nominating Committee will meet Nov. 11 at 9 a.m. to confirm the election. The nominees receiving the highest number of votes shall be declared elected.

Office of Secretary
Anyone wishing to run for Secretary must be a REALTOR® member in good standing (residential or commercial) and have served as an elected Director of the Board. They also must recognize the volunteer time involved in this position and be willing to serve in this position to its fullest capacity. This includes committing to serve as an officer for the next five years as secretary, treasurer, president-elect, president and immediate past president.
Nomination & Election of Secretary
The slate of candidates for officer positions is determined by a Nominating Committee and elected by the Board of Directors. The Nominating Committee is made up of the current President and two Past Presidents whom the current President appoints. The slate is sent to all Directors in advance of the October meeting at which time the slate is officially presented and the floor opened for any further nominations. The actual election of the officers will be conducted at the Nov. 16 meeting of the Board of Directors. If the election ballot consists of more than one candidate for any of the elected offices, the election shall be by secret ballot. If the election ballot consists of only one nominee for each office, the election may be conducted by voice vote.

Election of the C/I Steering Committee
Anyone interested in running for the CBR C/I Steering Committee must have been a REALTOR® member of the CBR for at least three consecutive years. The nominating committee will meet in October to review all submitted resumes. The nominating committee will select the slate of candidates from the submitted resumes. Ballots will be mailed to all CBR commercial members in November.

Election of the MLS Committee
Any Participant or licensee associated with a ML Participant and designated by the Participant may be eligible for election to the Committee, provided that not more than four Committee Members are from each Participant company until or unless the Participant company’s units of activity warrant increased representation.
